Throughout this week, the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team has undertaken a series of targeted operations aimed at reducing and addressing knife crime within our community.

Operation Sceptre is not solely focused on enforcement; it also prioritises education and raising awareness about the dangers and consequences of carrying knives. As you may have seen, our activities have included knife sweeps, the provision of amnesty bins, school engagement sessions, and other proactive measures.

The image below shows knives, bladed articles, and other items that could be used as offensive weapons. You’ll also find photographs of officers from your Safer Neighbourhood Team actively carrying out operations to combat knife crime in locations you may recognise

These were either voluntarily surrendered by members of the public or recovered by officers during knife sweeps conducted by the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team.
We would like to emphasise that no action will be taken against individuals who have willingly handed in a knife or bladed article. This is the very purpose of an amnesty—providing a safe and judgment-free opportunity to dispose of such items.
